Expect the unexpected when you journey into the world of little streets and laneways that lies at the vibrant heart of Melbourne. In the hands of Jaime Murcia, this village within the city is a darkly interesting world, with a gothic and theatrical edge. Meet the colourful characters, venture into the cafes and bars, and discover the art and artists who have brought fame to this once neglected zone.
Photography is Jaime’s calling. He’s been shooting professionally for over twenty-four years, carrying his camera with humour, compassion and curiosity. He is a past president and member of the MAP Group of photographers, and has been published across Australia and overseas. A number of Jaime’s photos are held in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra and the National Library of Australia.
