Melanie Faith Dove grew up on a farm in Western Victoria and feels very much at home crawling around in paddocks or riding on the backs of utes or horses to get the best vantage point for her photos. She has worked as a press photographer for The Age (Fairfax Publication) since 2002-2013 with her work appearing on the covers of books, magazines and newspapers Australia wide with the most recent features appearing on the cover and in R.M. Williams Outback Magazine. She has a BA in photography from RMIT, has taught Photojournalism at Photography Studies College, Melbourne and currently shoots freelance all around Australia. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S. and Indonesia and a selection of her Sumatran Elephant images are on permanent display at The Melbourne Zoo. In 2013 she won the People's Choice Award for The National Portrait Prize, Canberra and in 2010 she took out the People's Choice Award in the Bowness Award, Monash Gallery of Art.
